The Project Manager is responsible for leading software implementation and technology initiatives from concept through delivery, while also serving as a key contributor in business analysis and product ownership activities. This role combines project execution leadership with responsibility for defining business requirements, managing scope, and ensuring delivered solutions meet business needs.

The Project Manager partners closely with business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into clear requirements, prioritized backlogs, and actionable delivery plans. This individual serves as both the delivery lead and a solution owner, ensuring alignment between business expectations and technical execution.

Responsibilities of Position:

  • Lead end-to-end software implementation and technology projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, financial targets, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, risk registers, and executive-level status reporting
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change control processes
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to ensure financial discipline
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, business users, vendors, and external consultants
  • Ensure smooth transition to operational teams post-implementation and capture lessons learned
  • Lead requirements discovery sessions and stakeholder workshops
  • Translate business needs into documented functional and technical requirements
  • Develop business process maps, gap analyses, and solution documentation
  • Create and manage user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability documentation
  • Own and prioritize the project backlog in partnership with stakeholders
  • Act as a functional product owner during project delivery, ensuring scope alignment and business value realization
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), including test case development and validation of business outcomes
  • Facilitate decision-making related to scope trade-offs, enhancements, and solution design
  • Provide clear, concise status updates to leadership and stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to project management best practices and company standards
  • Support training, change management, data migration, and go-live activities
  • Escalate issues appropriately while driving timely resolution
  • Perform other duties as needed

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position will not manage employees

Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:

  • Experience serving in a Product Owner or functional solution lead capacity preferred
  • Delivering enterprise software projects on time and within scope and budget
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models)
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving enterprise environment
  • Familiarity with change management and organizational readiness practices

Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in project management required
  • 5+ years of experience in combination of project management, business analysis, or hybrid delivery roles required
  • Experience performing both project leadership and business requirements ownership required
  • Experience managing vendors or third-party software providers required
  • PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PRINCE2, or similar certification
  • Experience using project and portfolio management tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, Asana, ServiceNow PPM)
  • Experience with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS, Fleet, Operations platforms, etc.)

Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:

  • Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10 lbs
  • Frequently sitting

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:

  • Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
