About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced, client-facing Implementation Project Manager to own the net-new client onboarding experience from start to finish. In this cross-functional role, you will lead the implementation lifecycle (typically 90-120+ days) to ensure seamless launches ahead of the critical January 1st go-live season.

This role requires a unique balance of rigorous technical project management (70%) and polished client relations (30%). You will either deeply own one complex enterprise implementation or manage the execution and background workstream tasks for 3-4 concurrent client launches.

Core Responsibilities:
1. Implementation Project Management & Issue Tracking (70% of Time)
  • Own the Timeline: Build, track, and manage the end-to-end 90-120+ day project plans for complex, net-new client implementations to ensure milestones are met on time and within scope.

  • Internal Coordination: Prepare meeting agendas and coordinate closely with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) across Eligibility, Benefit Plan Design, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Member Advocacy teams to drive project tasks.

  • Track & Resolve Issues: Utilize project management tools (Jira/Confluence) to manage dependencies, flag risks, track blockers, and document implementation progress.

  • Operational Readiness: Ensure all technical and operational back-end structures (such as eligibility feeds and financial routing) are validated and stable prior to go-live.

2. Client Relations & Communication (30% of Time)
  • Serve as the Primary Partner: Interface directly with clients and external partners as the dedicated point of contact throughout the onboarding process.

  • Manage Expectations: Set clear, realistic project boundaries and deliverable timelines, managing client-specific requests effectively.

  • Provide Clear Status Updates: Translate complex internal operational milestones into concise, professional, and solution-oriented updates for client stakeholders.

  • Seamless Handoff: Cultivate strong client satisfaction and partnership during implementation, ensuring a smooth transition to the long-term Client Success team post-launch.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience implementing and managing complex, technical, and high-stakes projects.

  • Industry Domain: Proven experience working in project management or implementation for a health plan, third-party administrator (TPA), or healthcare technology company.

  • Client-Facing Success: Demonstrated background in a client-facing role with the ability to manage expectations, push back gently when necessary, and navigate difficult conversations smoothly.

  • The Contractor Mindset: Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable hitting the ground running in a fast-paced, 5-month contract environment with zero ramp-up time.

Preferred Technical Skills:
  • Project Management Software: High proficiency with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) or equivalent robust platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana).

  • Productivity Suites: Proficient with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).

For California Applicants:

We will consider for employment all qualified Applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable federal, state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance (FCIHO), Los Angeles Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers (ULAC), The San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance (FCO) , and the California Fair Chance Act (CFCA).

This position is subject to a background check based on its job duties, which may include patient care, working with vulnerable populations, access to financial and confidential information, driving, working with heavy machinery, or working in a warehouse or laboratory environment.
