Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to support mission-critical B-1B and B-52 flight software programs for a leading defense partner located at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK. The Software Engineer will contribute to the design, development, testing, and sustainment of software system and subsystem engineering models used throughout the full lifecycle of operational flight software. This role requires an Active Secret Security Clearance! Responsibilities for the Software Engineer Include: • Design, develop, test, and maintain software system and subsystem engineering models supporting operational flight software programs. • Support full software development lifecycle activities including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment. • Analyze and translate customer requirements and technical specifications into software solutions that meet mission and program objectives. • Develop and deploy operational flight software used for aircraft system monitoring, diagnostics, and testing. • Collaborate with system engineers, software engineers, and program stakeholders to support integration and verification activities. • Utilize JIRA to manage requirements, development tasks, issue tracking, and workflow management throughout the software lifecycle. • Troubleshoot software defects, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve system performance and reliability. Qualifications for the Software Engineer Include: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline required. • 5-7 years of software engineering experience supporting complex software development programs. • Strong proficiency in C programming and/or ADA development. • Experience supporting software development throughout the full software development lifecycle. • Experience utilizing JIRA for requirements management, issue tracking, and project coordination. • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. • Experience developing software in highly regulated environments such as aerospace, defense, aviation, or government programs preferred.
