Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for:
  • Set the tone for the department with a fix it forever mindset

  • Develop downtime reduction strategy for the Maintenance department (PM programs, staffing)
  • Develop training strategy to minimize 3rdparty spending
  • Develop Parts room strategy to create an organized, accurate parts inventory.

  • Facilities expertise (steam systems, sewer, NH3, roof, asphalt, electrical service, boilers, etc.

  • CAPEX Projects (write, justify, lead)

  • Host Contractors for job walks on facility assets
  • Approaches work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engage in MVFF Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource, and sustain improvement opportunities.
  • Owns and promotes a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
  • Provides management of employees directly or through supervisors to ensure effective selection, retention, and development including disciplinary action and performance management.
  • Analyzes data from the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) (MVP Plant)) and make necessary adjustments to achieve high performance from Maintenance team members.
  • Displays exceptional leadership skills to motivate your team across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Supervises staff in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and utility systems maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Responsible for monthly department budget adherence, forecasting and fiscal planning.
  • Communicate effectively with Maintenance team members through structured daily shift pass downs and weekly staff meetings.
  • Effectively interfaces with equipment manufacturers and is the on-site contact for vendor services.
  • Follows established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods to meet or exceed regulatory and company requirements.
  • Maintains departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and implements corrective actions identified to improve overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Remains current with latest emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation.
    • Maintains facility utility systems, including but not limited to ammonia, air, steam, and wastewater.
    • Stays updated and followed all Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP), Food Safety and Quality Principles.
    • Supports the Facilities Engineering Manager on new equipment installations and repairs, by ensuring maintenance team members are properly trained and that all applicable assets are documented in the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).
    • Ensures that all department duties and job functions are conducted in compliance with the written operating procedures and established departmental safety regulations.
    • Performs routine Preventative Maintenance (PM) audits to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
      Salary Range: $125,000-$145,000
    • Position Requirements:
      To be a successful Maintenance Manager you will need:
      • High school diploma or GED is required.

      • A minimum of five (5) years of maintenance leadership at a supervisory level and above is required, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.

      • Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) experience is preferred.

      • Strong electrical background is required, experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is preferred.

      • Effective ability to coach and train a team is required.
