As part of our exciting growth, we are currently searching for an Engineering Manager, BMS.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Building Management Systems (BMS) team within our data center environment. The Engineering Manager will play a crucial role in the successful delivery, management, and optimization of BMS platforms across our data centers. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and effective communication to ensure seamless coordination with various teams involved in the construction, commissioning, design, and operations of our data centers.

Responsibilities:

1. Platform Delivery Deliverables:

  • Provide weekly updates to the Platform Delivery (PD) teams, including Construction, Procurement, Commissioning, and Design, regarding project status, constraints, and opportunities.
  • Maintain regular communication with the site Aligned team, consisting of Construction Managers (CM), Technical Project Managers (TPM), and Operations personnel, to navigate constraints, opportunities, and project deliverables on a daily basis.
  • Collaborate with the project team to establish closeout package requirements and ensure alignment with customer requirements on vendor/partner deliverables.
  • Assist the Construction Manager (CM) in developing and driving proposals related to Commissioning and Quality Control (Cx/QCx) partners, ensuring completion and alignment with project goals.
  • Facilitate Lessons Learned meetings to capture project challenges, opportunities, and strategies for future projects, enhancing overall project execution.
  • Manage and audit daily status reports that document completed work versus outstanding work, serving as a safeguard for potential change orders.

2. Platform Engineering Deliverables:

  • Conduct thorough design reviews to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance of BMS designs with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Lead the development of BMS standards, including Points Lists, Graphics, and Sequences, ensuring consistency and high quality across data center projects.
  • Coordinate closely with BMS partners to communicate standards, drive continuous improvement, and align on business planning strategies.
  • Provide support for Commissioning (CX) activities by assisting in issue resolution related to BMS, contributing to a smooth commissioning process.
  • Perform in-depth design and operational analysis to address design and operational needs, such as TES (Thermal Energy Storage) tank sizing and trend analysis for both Project Delivery Engineering and operational failure analysis.
  • Offer construction administration support, including managing Requests for Information (RFIs), reviewing schedules, and conducting site walks to ensure BMS integration aligns with project objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in managing Building Management Systems (BMS) projects within the data center, industrial, or related industries.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of successful delivery of complex projects on time and within budget.
  • In-depth understanding of BMS design principles, standards, and technologies, including Points Lists, Graphics, Sequences, and trending analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in commissioning processes, quality control, and issue resolution related to BMS systems.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and platforms used in BMS design and management.
  • Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Leadership skills to manage and inspire a team of engineers and technical professionals.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

This role does have a 25% travel requirement.
