IT Systems Engineer II - Counce Mill
The purpose of this position is to provide implementation, configuration, support and troubleshooting of all hardware, operating systems, applications and policies related to desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices and kiosk machines in the end user environment and support and mentor the Systems Engineer 1. This position is part of the local plant Information Services department. This person will interface with internal and external end-users to support and maintain end-user computing needs. The incumbent will report to the Manager, Information Services. Facility is a 24x7 operation; rotational call is required.
Education - Bachelor of Science, Information Technology Systems or equivalent. - Required.
Work Experience - A minimum of 5+ years previous work experience in an industrial environment related IT - preferred.
  • LAN/WAN investigation, configuration, and troubleshooting user/systems access and applications issues.
  • Experience with ITS user security and operating systems administration covering various platforms/applications.
  • Experience with VOIP system and administration.
  • Platforms must include Windows Desktops, Desktop Application Support and Design, and Operating systems.
  • Experience with server support in a virtual environment to include investigating and troubleshooting issues.
  • Applicant familiarity with IBM AS400 operations (Plus)
  • Experience investigating, documenting, and resolving help desk service requests and use of help desk software.

Skills -
  • Must be Windows Operating Systems literate. Proficient in active directory and group policy functionality.
  • Must have strong investigation and troubleshooting for problem solving for desktop, servers, and network equipment.
  • Effective use of troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, Fiddler, Linux/DOS utilities, and Windows PowerShell.
  • Must have strong organizational skills to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests.
  • Must have the ability to adapt to and work effectively and independently in a fast paced, multitasking environment.
  • Must be able to evaluate and prioritize tasks for efficiency and completeness.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals throughout the company on departmental procedures, policies, and requests for information.
  • Able to work rotational call, afterhours, and weekends as assigned or needed.
  • Certifications a Plus.
  • Must be able to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of plant, mill and corporate personnel and with customers and vendors.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Starting salary range for position: $80,000 to $92,000
  • Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
  • Paid Holidays.
  • Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision - and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
  • Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions
