Inertial Aerospace Services (IAS), a subsidiary of HEICO Aerospace, is currently recruiting for a Software Engineer at our facility in Highland Heights, Ohio.
ROLE:
The Software Engineer will participate in the full hardware, firmware and software development life cycle from initial design to release management. As a part of the project engineering team, you will design the software and firmware code for the real time system control using sound engineering principles and best engineering practices. The Software Engineer must have ability to develop optimal software architecture and appropriate algorithms for new and existing hardware designs. Duties also include documentation and maintenance of software along with troubleshooting and upgrades to existing products. Experience with various programming languages may be required along with experience in graphical user interface design.
PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review available product documentation, participation in product design and formulate test equipment requirements necessary to comprehensively verify product operation.
  • Develop test equipment concepts that can be effectively implemented.
  • Participation in analog and digital systems design from conception through production that implements preset requirements.
  • Ability to understand schematics, PCB layout and hardware component selection.
  • Ability to integrate commercial test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, Programmable PS, etc.) and third-party hardware with firmware and software developed by software engineering team.
  • Troubleshoot problems/issues associated with test sets/products and provides analytical basis for problem resolution or replacement.
  • Provide both test equipment and product support for production team.
  • Develop and present technical briefings to management.
  • Must work well with others and be flexible in handling multiple tasks.

EDUCATION / PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Requires BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • 5 Years experience minimum
  • S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence required.
  • Experience in software development with embedded C and C++, Assembler, C# and VB in .NET environment, as well as the ability to learn new languages and technologies is highly desired.
  • Experience with code architecture and algorithm design is highly desired.
  • Experience in graphical user interface design is highly desired.
  • Experience with various communication protocols is highly desired.
  • The ability to be self-motivated with the skills to work both independently and with team members.
  • Digital circuit design, including embedded microprocessors, is highly desired.
  • Experience with high-speed serial, Ethernet and ARINC-429 communication is highly desired.
  • Must have the ability to document requirements and specifications.
  • Exposure to good software engineering practices and product testing.
  • Working knowledge of C/C++ for embedded applications, C# and VB.Net.
  • Web development experience is not required.
