The Software Development Manager is responsible for leading one or more development teams to deliver high-quality software on time and within scope. This role focuses on developing talent, ensuring consistent execution, and maintaining strong technical and operational standards while collaborating across business and technology functions.

Key Responsibilities People Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and mentor software engineers through ongoing feedback and performance management
  • Build a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Support career development, skill advancement, and succession planning
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning
  • Communicate clearly to align expectations and define roles and responsibilities
Delivery & Execution
  • Own team delivery outcomes, ensuring predictable and high-quality releases
  • Partner with Product Management to define roadmaps, priorities, and release plans
  • Manage scope, dependencies, risks, and trade-offs across initiatives
  • Ensure Agile/Scrum practices are effectively followed and continuously improved
  • Track and report progress, metrics, and risks to stakeholders
Technical & Quality Oversight
  • Provide technical direction and support without micromanaging implementation
  • Ensure adherence to engineering best practices (code quality, testing, security, maintainability)
  • Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on system design and technical strategy
