Overview

Job Purpose

The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) presents a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and address complex business challenges in the financial sector. As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will work with System Analysts, Development and Functional QA to understand the business/ product requirements, system requirements and test scenarios related to the financial applications and to build or modify the automation framework. You will be responsible for maintaining these frameworks by following current standards along with coordinating test execution, training users and providing user support. The successful candidate will be able to multitask in a dynamic team-based environment while demonstrating strong problem solving, extensive technical skills, decision-making abilities, and the highest level of professionalism. The candidate is also expected to be a self-motivated individual who has a proven history of delivering high-quality test results and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with industry leading test automation tools: Application Lifecycle Management (ALM); Selenium utilizing Java; Custom Python frameworks, SoapUI and other API testing tools
  • Work with technology team in building cutting edge financial systems
  • Reviewing business and functional requirements to produce a test strategy and test cases.
  • Develop, execute and maintain test cases for new and existing application features
  • Gain experience with Iterative and Agile software development methodologies.
  • Report bugs, help manage the bug triage process and ensure all issues are handled efficiently
  • Provide timely status updates and assist the team in making decisions about release readiness
  • Participate in all aspects of a full-lifecycle development methodology, and related quality concepts and processes
  • Performs troubleshooting software / hardware configuration problems
  • Exposed to automation test execution and automation test script maintenance
  • Identifies and resolves escalations with emphasis on root cause analysis
  • Communicates plans and status efficiently and helps to ensures team is on track for all testing efforts
  • Develop a strong background in building automated testing architectures/ frameworks
  • Experience participating in all aspects of a full-life cycle development methodology and related quality concepts and processes.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related degree
  • 3+ years’ experience in reviewing product requirements and design, creating test plans, and testing distributed web-based applications
  • 3+ years’ Web-based GUI testing for Java/J2EE applications using data driven test methodologies
  • Experience using ALM or similar test management tools
  • 2+ years’ experience programming in Python or Java
  • Experience working in UNIX/Linux and SQL/Oracle environments
  • Experience working with test automation tools
  • Comfortable with test automation execution and maintenance
  • Solid understanding of Agile/SCRUM methodologies a plus
  • Ability to work independently and productively under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Track record of completing assignments on time with a high degree of quality
  • Ability to set priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and decision-making ability
