What you'll be doing...
As a Software Development - Associate Director, you will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives within the Value Organization, driving technical innovation, and managing several Value portfolios. The position requires strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with overall business objectives and Verizon's values. The role also includes technology optimization, industry collaboration, and people development to foster a high-performing team and achieve strategic goals.
Strategic Initiative Leadership:
  • Leading the end-to-end planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex strategic initiatives within the Value Organization. This includes defining project scope, developing detailed project plans, managing timelines, mitigating risks, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet established objectives.
  • Ensuring alignment of strategic initiatives with Verizon's overall business objectives and drive measurable value creation by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting on progress

Technical Leadership & Innovation:
  • Fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous innovation by staying abreast of emerging technologies, encouraging experimentation, and promoting best practices in software development.
  • Technology transformation/migration to modern, highly scalable architectures.
  • Experience with high performing micro services with third-party integrations and messaging frameworks.
  • Leading ReactJS, NextJS Digital frameworks for eCommerce initiatives and Adobe Experience Manager Content Management
  • Customer facing transactions web sites with API integrations
  • Application development technical project leadership experience in large complex corporate environments, including omni-channel transactions and experience
  • Experience with marketing and advertising requirements for Web
  • Leading and working with Agile team

Capital Program Management
  • Owning and managing the capital expenditure portfolio allocated for strategic initiatives, ensuring efficient resource allocation, adherence to budgets, and optimal return on investment.
  • Conducting thorough cost-benefit analyses and prioritizing projects based on their potential impact and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

Driving consensus among diverse stakeholders, facilitate effective communication, and ensure seamless collaboration across all stages of project development and implementation.
Executive Communication:
  • Providing transparency by delivering clear and accurate information that enables informed decision-making at the executive level.
  • Preparing and delivering executive-level briefings and presentations to update senior leadership on project statuses, challenges, and outcomes.

Technology Alignment & Optimization:
  • Identifying opportunities for optimization and enhanced customer experience by analyzing current systems and workflows, and recommending improvements.
  • Collaborating with technology teams to implement changes and ensure smooth integration with existing infrastructure..

Leader of People:
  • Focusing on developing and retaining top talent by providing mentorship, coaching, and opportunities for professional growth.

What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Knowledge in leveraging AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Co-Pilot, Gemini) to design, develop, and test functions, and applying AI to optimize daily workflows and problem-solving
  • Experience in end-to-end planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex strategic initiatives.
  • Experience providing strong technical leadership and direction, leveraging deep expertise in full-stack development to guide architectural decisions, system design, and implementation strategies for value-driven solutions.
  • Experience in managing a team and support individual/ team development.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Experience with managing stakeholder expectations and providing regular updates on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience wit communicating project progress, system performance, strategic initiatives, and key insights effectively and concisely to executive leadership through presentations, reports, and meetings.
  • Experience wit mentoring and guiding technical teams, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to achieve their objectives.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $126,000.00 - $242,000.00.
