Our mission is to transform access to social services for the inherent dignity of all people.
Position Description
The Development Coordinator will provide critical operational and administrative support to the fundraising team, ensuring our systems are organized, data is accurate, and our stewardship efforts are consistent. This position will report to the Development Manager. This is a full-time, remote position.
Key Responsibilities
  • Grants Management & Operations:
    • Maintain and manage the detailed grants calendar, tracking all submission and reporting deadlines.
    • Support the Development Manager in the research, vetting, and preparation of grant proposals and reports to foundations and corporations.
    • File and organize all grant-related documentation to ensure institutional knowledge and audit readiness.
    • Update and maintain donor databases (Little Green Light, HubSpot) with accurate research, notes, and communications.
  • Donor Stewardship & Engagement:
    • Oversee a systematic donor appreciation program, ensuring all donors receive timely and personalized acknowledgments.
    • Lead the creation and dissemination of donor newsletters and other impact communications.
    • Assist in mapping donor journeys and maintaining donor records to ensure effective long-term engagement.
  • Team Collaboration & Systems:
    • Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure fundraising efforts are aligned with organizational goals and product milestones.
    • Prepare agendas and materials for fundraising and partnerships meetings, including regular updates to tracking systems like Asana.
    • Assist in maintaining public charity profiles (e.g., Charity Navigator, Benevity) to reflect current impact and financial health.
    • Stay informed about trends in nonprofit fundraising and help incorporate best practices into development workflows.

Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage complex projects, multiple stakeholders, and competing deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, specifically in database management and administrative record-keeping.
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or operational support.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with an ability to translate organizational impact into compelling, donor-facing content.
  • Proficiency with fundraising CRM tools (e.g., Little Green Light, HubSpot) and project management software (e.g., Asana).
  • A passion for mRelief's mission, civic technology, and creating innovative, equitable solutions.

Compensation, Location & Benefits
  • Salary: $74,000
  • Status: Full-time, exempt.
  • Location: Remote (preference for candidates in Illinois, Texas, California, or Maryland).
  • Benefits: mRelief provides a comprehensive benefits package, including:
    • Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage: 100% coverage for employees, and 40% coverage for dependents. FSA accounts available.
    • Retirement: 401K matching of 100% up to 3% of contributions, and 50% up to 6% of contributions.
    • Paid Time Off: 15 paid vacation days, 10 sick days, plus annual December 24-31 office closure.
    • Stipends: Annual remote-work and professional development stipends, monthly co-working stipend, and a self-care stipend.
    • Additional: Life insurance coverage up to $50,000 and sabbatical leave eligibility after three years.
