Job description

Job Summary
Assists in the design, definition, development, and test of the cloud computing applications development. Collaborates with senior engineers to ensure that internal and external clients' needs are met.
Job Requirements

Continuous Product Engineering (Sustaining Engineering) position to diagnose, reproduce and identify solutions to customer reported problems with NetApp products in a GDC context.

You will work with NetApp ONTAP, the number one storage operating system on the planet.  Problem areas include NetApp hardware, software and multi-vendor interoperability.

This could be the right job for you if you enjoy solving puzzles working "under the covers" of complex systems to understand how they behave and digging into low level operating system code to find and fix product deficiencies. You will also collaborate with support and development engineers to improve the supportability, resiliency and functionality of NetApp ONTAP.

Essential Functions:

  • Specific areas of focus will be in diagnosing complex customer issues in the sphere of Google Cloud and ONTAP
  • Collaborate with other engineers in debugging and identifying the root cause of filesystem problems as well as finding ways to recover data and/or down systems.  Develop and communicate action plans as appropriate.
  • Perform technical duties through careful examination of system logs, system status information, system memory dumps and NetApp ONTAP source code.
  • Perform technical duties in a timely manner while in constant communication with support personnel, escalation managers and sometimes directly with customers.
  • Contribute to the development of software fixes or enhancements to NetApp ONTAP.
  • This is a regular daytime position but may entail some holiday and/or weekend coverage.
Education

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 2 years of experience, a Master's Degree; or equivalent experience is typically required.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 113,050 - 168,300 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
