CIMA+’s Geotechnical Department is looking for a Geotechnical Project Manager for its Montreal office. When you join our team, you’ll be working in a multidisciplinary group comprising geotechnical and geological engineers, as well as environmental specialists.

Your expertise in soil mechanics will enable you to contribute to a variety of challenging projects, including the design, rehabilitation or construction of buildings, engineering structures, hydraulic structures, earthworks, slope stability, roads, temporary and permanent retaining structures, deep and conventional foundations, and much more.

We offer a flexible hybrid work mode, allowing you to work from home and from one of our offices.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Carry out and supervise complete geotechnical studies, from planning to report writing, including soundings, drillings, laboratory tests and design recommendations
  • Inspect, assess safety and upgrade earth dams
  • Coordinate studies, engineering and field work, as well as relations with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Prepare technical documents, such as bids for interdepartmental or public tenders, as well as plans and specifications for earthworks, slope stabilization and bank protection, with the support of experienced draftsmen.
  • Supervise, train and guide young engineers, CPIs or trainees, while playing an active role in team development
Qualifications
  • University degree in civil or geological engineering with specialization in geotechnics
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Membre of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Experience or Master’s degree in hydrogeology or rock mechanics or soil dynamics or permafrost (an asset)
  • Knowledge of specialized geotechnical software
  • Proficiency in written and spoken French and English is required to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
  • Project management skills to ensure compliance with budgets, established deadlines and administrative monitoring of files
