About the job

As a member of the Solutions team, you will be playing a big part in the effort to secure SAS9 and keep our customers happy. You will be working alongside a team of developers and testers to triage customer issues, fix customer and security related issues, and upgrade third party software. You will also bring improvements to current processes where possible to enable us to work faster and more efficiently

As a Sr Software Developer, you will:
  • Work collaboratively with development, testing, product, operations, and support peers across the SAS9 Division, and also triage and resolve internal and external customer related issues.
  • Scope requirements and estimate effort.
  • Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. These are our values and influence everything we do.
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a developer on large software projects.
  • Strong Java programming experience.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs.
  • Experience with Apache HTTP Server and Tomcat.
  • Familiarity with security principles such as FIPS, TLS, Certificate and Private Key infrastructure, ciphers.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
Additional competencies, knowledge and skills
  • Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL and/or DB2 databases.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Ability to write and maintain unit tests.
  • Bash Shell experience and knowledge of Linux commands.
  • Experience using Gerrit, Git, or GitHub for source code management and code review.
  • Experience with integration and regression testing.
  • Communication- Conveying information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand andretainthe message; listening actively to others.
  • Technological Savy- Leveraging one’s practical knowledge and understanding of recent technology tools, solutions, and trends to improve work results, solve work problems, and take advantage of new business opportunities.
  • Experience with Eclipse IDE
  • Experience with OpenSearch, ElasticSearch, IBM MQ, Ignite, Kafka, Redis
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and actively contribute your ideas.
