Position Description:

Designs and develops software application components, using JavaScript frameworks (Node.js, React.js, Angular.js, HTML, and Cascading Style Sheet (CSS)). Designs and develops Java-based Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), using SOAP and Restful Web services. Automates infrastructure components in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) stack IAM roles, security policies, Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) cluster. Develops new Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the software development and delivery processes. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Web applications using Angular and RESTful APIs.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Web applications using Angular and RESTful APIs.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and implementing full-stack software solutions using Angular for front-end development, Node.js and Java for back-end services, and core Web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, and CSS) for interactive User Interfaces (UI); and implementing state management solutions for large scale Angular applications to facilitate interaction between components and data sources through reactive programming patterns, using NgRx and RxJS.
  • DE designing and developing user centric Web applications using Angular with integrated REST APIs, to deliver real-time, secure, dynamic data experiences for end users; and implementing responsive design principles using Bootstrap, PrimeNg, and Angular material frameworks to deliver modern, accessible, and performant UIs.
  • DE designing, developing, and integrating Java Web services (REST), using Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, Hibernate, and Spring Security based on Micro-services architecture for seamless communication and data exchange between distributed application components over the Web; authenticating applications using OAuth and Spring MVC frameworks to enable secure, authorized communication between services and client through token based access control; implementing CI/CD pipelines for UI and Web services, using Jenkins and GitHub to automate application build, test, and deployment process; and developing SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views in Oracle and SQL Server Databases to retrieve, process, secure, and automate data operations efficiently in database layer.
  • DE supporting the full Web application development lifecycle including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment to Cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, or AWS), using Source Control version (Git), build tools (Maven and Jenkins), and deployment technologies (Docker and Kubernetes) according to Agile methodologies.
