Job description

Temporary Full Timeย

This is a student position that is 4 months in duration for the term: September-December. You must be a student registered in a Canadian College or University.ย ย 

This position is for students returning to school after their work term or requiring a placement as requirements for graduation. While notย required, preference will be given to students enrolled in a registered Co-op program.ย ย

We are looking forย Software Developer Studentsย who are eager to learn, build real-world systems, and contribute to meaningful software solutions in a collaborative environment. This student position provides hands-on experience working with modern and evolving technologies while being supported by experienced developers and mentors.ย 

You will join a software development team and contribute to the design, development, testing, and support of applications that power our business. Depending on the team, your work may span front-end, back-end, full-stack, data, platform, or integration solutions.ย 

What You'll Do

  • Work within an agile, team-oriented environment to support, maintain, and enhance software applications
  • Participate in phases of the software lifecycle, including:
    • Design and development
    • Integration and testing
    • Deployment and transition to production
    • Maintenance and production support
  • Troubleshoot application issues and contribute to root-cause analysis and permanent solutions
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, architects, and business partners
  • Perform functional and technical testing to ensure quality and compatibility
  • Use version control, collaboration, and issue-tracking tools as part of daily work
  • Apply learning from your academic experience to real-world technical and process improvements

What You'll Be Working With

You may work with some of the following technologies or tools (experience in all is not required):

  • Programming & Frameworks: Modern JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C#/.NET, Python, VB6, VBA or similar languages
  • Web & Application Development: Front-end frameworks (React or Vue), back-end services, RESTful APIs, and microservices
  • Databases & Data: Relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL-based or NoSQL platforms, DB2).
  • Developer Tools & Practices: Version control (e.g., Git), IDEs (Visual Studios and/or VS Code), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing
  • Collaboration & Delivery Tools: Jira, Confluence, Teams, SharePoint, or similar platforms
  • Platforms & Environments (team dependent): Cloud, containerized, or mainframe environments

What You Bring

  • Currently in your second-year or higher and pursuing a post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to change
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage assigned tasks

The base salary for this position is between $43,400 - $71,900 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.

For our student opportunities, the base salary will be dependent on the number of work terms you have completed along with other factors depending on your program.
