Job description

Job Title: Assistant Softball Coach
Department: Athletics
Reports To: Head Softball Coach and Director of Athletics
Location: Marshalltown Community College, Marshalltown, IA
Rate of Pay: Stipend
Summary: The purpose of this position is to provide the Head Softball Coach assistance in various areas. Responsibilities include but are not limited to recruiting student-athletes, coaching, summer camps, and facility management. The successful candidate will strive to provide a quality successful environment that will support student-athlete success on the field and in the classroom. The coach will seek to develop positive relationships on campus as well as in the community.
Job Duties: Assist in all areas of a competitive collegiate softball program. Including, but not limited to competition, recruiting, player development, practice, and scheduling as needed. Be prepared to travel and assist with operations as needed. Aid with the overall environment for successful recruiting and retaining of a full competitive roster. Additionally, the position will support the head coach in all areas of daily operations. Including, but not limited to scheduling, player schedules and player development work both off the field and on, including organizing the management of the strength and conditioning program. Further, the position will look to implement advanced batting and pitching analytics to assist with player development and prospect recruitment. This position requires working with NJCAA Letters of Intent. This position will be expended to be involved with set-up for their computation, SID work for their sports. Supports the overall success of the District by performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Associate’s Degree preferred, Coaching Experience required.
Certifications and Licenses: Valid driver license required Class C Passenger CDL required or ability to obtain.
Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to follow college, ICCAC, and NJCAA policies and procedures. Knowledge of intercollegiate softball program. Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations. Ability to effectively identify and resolve problems and to maintain strict confidentiality related to sensitive information.
