Career Team is looking to hire a Social Worker as part of the Employment and Training Services team. This position will be responsible for providing one-on-one and group interventions, as well as necessary staff interventions, and supporting customers' success. This position will provide counseling services and outlets for discussion regarding all aspects of a participant's life, inclusive of mental, social, physical, emotional, and behavioral health aspects that may be beyond the scope of regular staff. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Your Impact on Career TEAM's Success:
  • Meet every participant for a 1-on-1 introductory session within 14 days of enrollment
  • Respond within 24 hours to participants' requests for service
  • Provide individual and group supports and interventions
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions
  • Responsible for making referrals and appropriate linkages
  • Partner with the other staff including the case manager, to provide wrap-around services
  • Support customers in achieving their individual success plans
  • Provides education/training to other staff
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate records of all case management interactions
  • Submit required reports
  • Report any critical incidents to the appropriate authorities, supervisors, and contract managers
  • Prepare and present reports of activities and accomplishments
  • Approach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindset

To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have:
  • A Maryland Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's Degree from an accredited university. A Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Level II or III, with a bachelor's degree, is also preferred
  • Preferred knowledge of EARN, TANF, or similar services
  • Multilingual or bilingual preferred
  • Training in trauma-informed care, harm reduction, de-escalation techniques, and vicarious trauma
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Knowledgeable about the local region and relevant partners
  • Astounding ability to multitask and be proactive
  • Ability to facilitate/supervise groups preferred
  • Experience, knowledge of, and sensitivity to homeless issues, and the particular issues and barriers faced by families, children, and veterans experiencing homelessness
  • Ability to apply positive engagement, motivational, and leadership skills in a culturally appropriate manner, working with adults and their children from diverse and multiply challenged backgrounds
  • Experience in care coordination work
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including detail-minded record-keeping and excellent computer skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with good personal boundaries and appropriate use of authority
  • Ability to hear and process critical feedback, as well as, provide it to others
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on commitments
  • Flexibility, creativity, positive attitude, and good humor
  • A Valid Driver's License
