Job description

The Supervisory Social Worker provides leadership and oversight for a team of social workers delivering child welfare and family support services. This role ensures compliance with agency policies, promotes trauma-informed and family-centered practices, and supports staff development through mentorship and training. The Supervisory Social Worker is responsible for reviewing case plans, monitoring service delivery, and maintaining high standards of care for children and families served by LSSNCA.ย 

"This position is contingent upon grant funding/award. Recruitment is being conducted in advance of a final funding decision. Employment will begin only if funding is secured."

Essential Functions

  1. Supervise social workers and provide guidance on case management practices.ย 
  2. Conduct regular individual and group supervision sessions.ย 
  3. Review and approve case plans to ensure compliance with agency and regulatory standards.ย 
  4. Ensure adherence to COA standards and state licensing requirements.ย 
  5. Monitor documentation for accuracy and timeliness.ย 
  6. Implement corrective action plans when necessary.ย 
  7. Provide mentorship and coaching to social work staff.ย 
  8. Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities.ย 
  9. Promote reflective practice and ethical decision-making.ย 
  10. Work closely with program leadership to align services with organizational goals.ย 
  11. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.ย 
  12. Serve as a liaison with external partners and community resources. ย

  • Master's Degree in Social Work with clinical licensures in MD and DCย (LCSW/LICSW)
  • 3+ years professional social work experience, including supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of child welfare regulations and trauma-informed care

  • Proficiency in case management systems and compliance documentation.
