What does a social work tech do?

A typical workday for a Social Work Tech involves supporting licensed social workers by assisting with client intakes, maintaining case files, coordinating community resources, and following up with clients to ensure their needs are being met. You may also participate in team meetings, help arrange appointments, and occasionally visit clients in various settings such as hospitals or social service agencies. Collaboration with case managers, healthcare professionals, and other support staff is common, and your day is often a mix of administrative and direct client interaction. This variety keeps the role dynamic and provides valuable exposure to different aspects of social work.
