Job Description

The School of Social Work at Colorado State University seeks applications throughout the year from individuals who are interested in obtaining temporary field liaison teaching positions within the school. The School of Social Work provides instruction of both undergraduate and graduate students.

Essential Job Duties
  • Serve as the Practice-Based Learning (Field) Liaison for SOWK 488, 588, 688 social work internship courses in both undergraduate and graduate social work programs

  • Provide instruction, advising, support, and consultation to assigned internship teams. Internship teams consist of Students, Practice-Based Learning Instructor, and On-Site Supervisor (if applicable)

  • Provide direct training, support, and management as primary contract for internship teams that include internship questions, supports, resources, conflict resolution, documents, scheduling, and online databased management system support.

  • Conducts internship visits and check-ins according to communication check lists in the Practice-Based Learning Liaison Support Canvas shell.

  • Maintains timely communication and responses with the internship team between visits

  • Provides supports and assists with development and completion of internship documents as well as with learning plan experiences and tasks.

  • Monitors student progress and learning plan effectiveness via visits, check-ins, and internship documents

  • Manages and consults with the Practice-Based Learning Team throughout each internship cycle to maintain compliance with CSWE internship requirements

  • Manages and monitors internships effectiveness and informs Intern Coordinator(s) around persistent, complex, or serious concerns, student needs for extra support/resources,

  • Completes Qualtrics Field Liaison Survey as the end of each semester

  • Attends Practice-Based Learning Liaison Supervision meetings as scheduled

  • Other duties as assigned

Supervision

This position reports to Dr. Charlotte Bright, Director and Professor, School of Social Work and Dr. Leah Cleeland, Director of the Practice-Based Learning Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A master's degree in social work or an appropriate discipline

Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years Field Education experience

  • Familiarity with digital and on-line communications, online data

  • base platforms, and learning software
