Position Summary
The Dermatology Department is seeking an experienced, goal-oriented, resourceful and self-motivated Administrative Assistant to the Chair.
Under limited supervision, this position will provide operational coordination, administrative support, and project management to the Chair of Dermatology. The selected candidate will also manage, prepare, analyze and oversee high level and sometimes sensitive/confidential reports for department leadership as needed.
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to serving as primary point of contact for the Chair and Leadership Team, scheduling and meeting coordination; coordinating travel; composing correspondence; managing administrative data; consolidated electronic tracking of information; development and implementation of administrative processes, procedures and systems; processing payments and reimbursements; and supporting dermatology faculty.
This position will also be responsible for the department's Social Media presence and electronic by-annual newsletter - strong online creativity is important. In-conjunction with Derm ECHO Medical Director, coordinate Derm ECHO sessions. Will work in partnership with the Department Administrator to facilitate faculty and staff recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes.
Our team works in a collegial environment, to support faculty, residents and staff who provide dermatology services at UNMH and SRMC. We are committed to providing education for Medical Students, Residents and Visiting Rotators.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in an academic medical center, healthcare organization, or higher education setting.
  • Familiarity with university financial, procurement, HR, and timekeeping systems.
  • Experience supporting faculty and executive leadership.
  • Experience coordinating educational programs, CME activities, or professional events.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and creating newsletters or marketing materials.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Strong online presence creativity.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
