Their duties often include creating and scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, responding to comments and messages, and analyzing metrics to optimize future content. They help ensure that social media accounts remain active, relevant, and aligned with branding and marketing goals. Social media assistants work closely with marketing teams to implement campaigns and may use various tools to streamline their workflow.

What does a social media assistant do?

A social media assistant is a media marketing professional who helps oversee a company’s or client’s social media presence. In this job, you may work for a company or in a marketing firm that serves many clients. As a social media assistant, your responsibilities include researching competitive brands or markets, developing and executing social media campaigns that drive business, and create an online voice or image for the client that is desirable and reaches the company’s targeted demographic.

This role is ideal for someone who understands how businesses should communicate online, enjoys creating engaging content, and is always bringing new ideas to the table. You’ll help shape QuestBlue’s social media presence, create compelling marketing content, and find creative ways to increase brand visibility, website traffic, and audience engagement.

This is a part-time, in-office position of approximately 20–25 hours per week. A great opportunity for someone who is social media native, brings ideas to the table, and isn't afraid to take initiative. Ultimately a highly organized person, and a self-motivator with collaborative spirit.

What You’ll Do

  • Create and publish engaging content across QuestBlue’s social media channels highlighting our products, services, company culture, events, and brand.
  • Plan and maintain a consistent social media content calendar and posting schedule.
  • Stay current with social media, digital marketing, and content trends and recommend new ways to reach and engage our audience.
  • Develop fresh ideas for social posts, short-form videos and visual content, graphics, campaigns, and other digital content.
  • Design graphics and create content for marketing materials, including flyers, advertisements, brochures, event materials, and digital campaigns.
  • Engage with our online audience, respond to activity, and identify opportunities to increase brand visibility and engagement.
  • Collaborate with our team to turn company news, events, products, customer stories, and ideas into compelling content.
  • Help maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across marketing channels.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating client gifts, holidays, trade shows, and special events.
  • Bring new ideas to the team and proactively identify opportunities to strengthen QuestBlue’s marketing presence.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business, or a related field, minimum 3+ years of experience in the Marketing field creating social media and marketing content.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, content trends, and how brands communicate online.
  • Ability to create engaging written, graphic, and video content.
  • Experience with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar creative platforms.
  • Strong expertise with platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and short-form video.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A creative mindset and the ability to develop original content ideas.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with different teams and levels of management.
  • Curiosity about emerging digital technologies, platforms, and marketing trends.
  • High energy, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to take ownership of projects.
  • Most importantly: initiative, creativity, dependability, and a genuine interest in helping build the QuestBlue brand.
