Job description

Social Services Assistant
Location: Ellisville, MO
Silver Tree Residential is looking for a dependable and experienced Social Services Assistant to join our team and residents. Gambrill Gardens is a garden-style community comprised of 297 apartment homes for seniors. We are looking for a compassionate amp; motivated individual who is willing to uphold our community to the highest standards and help improve the quality of life of our residents.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct semi‑annual and annual Intake, ADL, and Individual Assessments.
  • Maintain awareness of local, state, and federal benefit programs and eligibility criteria.
  • Understand Medicare and Medicaid basics and assist residents with benefit applications.
  • Communicate with residents and their families to ensure Activities of Daily Living needs are being met.
  • Develop knowledge of federal, state, and local senior‑focused resources, including entitlement programs supporting independent living.
  • Research plan and provide monthly programs- Assist the Service Coordinator (SC) in providing and coordinating ongoing educational programming, wellness presentations, and on‑site events that empower residents and promote self‑sufficiency.
  • Gain and share knowledge of available resources to support residents’ immediate needs as requested and directed by the resident or when intervention is necessary.
  • Visit neighboring senior living communities to learn about all levels of care, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, RCF, Skilled Nursing, and Memory Care.
  • Maintain a positive, team‑focused working relationship with housing management and all departments within Gambrill Gardens.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation in accordance with state regulations and ethical standards.
  • Report lease violations to Management
  • Refrain from providing direct services to residents; may assist the SC with limited case management when authorized by the resident.
  • Assist the SC in maintaining a comprehensive resource directory for the community.
  • Document resident interactions in compliance with HUD standards and requirements.
  • Organization of resident files
  • Uphold resident privacy and confidentiality with limited exceptions
Qualifications
  • Individual will preferably possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in gerontology, social work or related field.
  • Individual will possess a minimum of 2 years of administrative experience preferably in a social/human services setting.
  • Individual will be informed as to legal liability issues relevant to the provision of social services to at-risk populations.
  • Individual will possess a sincere commitment and passion to serve an elderly population characterized by physical, functional, social and cognitive challenges.
  • Individual will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to problem-solve, educate and advocate for vulnerable adults.
  • Excellent organizational skills and knowledge of MS Office and experience with Excel spreadsheets is required.
