Description

Alliance for Community Transformations is seeking a compassionate and motivated Recovery Coach to join the Mariposa Heritage House team.

This role provides peer-based recovery support to individuals participating in the Mariposa Adult Drug Court program. The Recovery Coach serves as a mentor, role model, and source of encouragement for participants working toward long-term recovery and stability.

If you have lived experience in recovery and are passionate about helping others build a healthier future, this is a meaningful opportunity to support individuals on their recovery journey while strengthening the community.


Key Responsibilities

Provide Peer Recovery Support
  • Provide weekly recovery support and encouragement to Drug Court participants
  • Serve as a positive role model demonstrating accountability, responsibility, and recovery-focused behavior
  • Support participants in identifying strengths, recovery goals, and support systems
  • Encourage engagement in treatment services, recovery meetings, and healthy activities
Support Participant Engagement
  • Assist participants in building sober support networks and community connections
  • Encourage participation in recovery-oriented programming and peer support opportunities
  • Attend Drug Court sessions and multidisciplinary team meetings as assigned
Sober Social Activities
  • Help organize and facilitate sober social activities and recovery support events
  • Encourage participation in group activities that strengthen recovery and community connection
  • Support monthly sober events designed to build recovery capital and positive peer engagement
Transportation & Community Support
  • Provide transportation assistance for participants attending court, treatment, recovery meetings, or program activities
  • Support participants in accessing community resources throughout Mariposa County
  • Maintain professional boundaries and follow all transportation and safety policies
Documentation & Program Support
  • Maintain accurate documentation of recovery support services and participant engagement
  • Track participation numbers and recovery activities for program reporting
  • Support data collection aligned with SAMHSA and grant reporting requirements

Additional Information

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Location: Mariposa Heritage House, Mariposa, CA
  • Travel: Travel throughout Mariposa County may be required

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current participant in Mariposa Adult Drug Court Phase 4 or a recent graduate of the program
  • Lived experience in recovery and commitment to supporting others in recovery
  • Ability to serve as a mentor and positive peer role model
  • Reliable transportation and valid California driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing peer support, mentoring, or recovery coaching
  • Familiarity with Drug Court programs, behavioral health services, or recovery-oriented systems of care
  • Experience facilitating recovery activities or group support
  • Bilingual skills are a plus

Certifications (Required or Obtainable After Hire)

  • Completion of the 5-Day Recovery Coach Academy Training
  • Mandated Reporter Training
  • CPR and First Aid
