Job description

Overview
Smartling is an AI-native translation platform that's redefining how the world's biggest brands go global: ranked #3 on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies list. We're growing rapidly at scale. While most companies are still figuring out how to use AI, we've spent years building it into the core of our platform.
We're looking for a Social Media Manager to own the voice of Smartling across every channel, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and whatever platform comes next. You'll join a fast-moving Marketing team and take our social presence from good to unmistakable, building a content engine that turns employees and customers into vocal advocates. If you love finding the story inside a company's work and turning it into content people actually stop to read, this is your seat.
You Will
  • Own and manage all Smartling social media channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and emerging platforms, as the primary voice of the brand.
  • Build and execute a channel-by-channel content calendar, tailoring format, tone, and cadence to each platform's audience.
  • Grow an employee advocacy program, equipping teammates with shareable content and making it easy for them to amplify company news.
  • Partner with Content, Design, Demand Generation and Product Marketing to adapt long-form assets (blogs, webinars, product launches) into native social content.
  • Track engagement, follower growth, and reach across platforms, and turn analytics into concrete adjustments to strategy.
  • Monitor brand mentions and industry conversation, engaging authentically and flagging opportunities or risks in real time.
  • Leverage AI tools to improve efficiencies and outcomes when it comes to social media and advocacy management.

You Have
  • 3+ years of experience managing social media channels for a B2B or SaaS company, with direct ownership of LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube.
  • A track record of growing engagement and follower base through organic content strategy, not just paid boosts.
  • Experience building or running an employee advocacy program.
  • Hands-on content creation experience. You can write a strong caption, brief a designer, or storyboard a short-form video yourself.
  • Comfort with social analytics and scheduling tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, Hubspot or similar) and native platform analytics.
  • Sharp copywriting instincts and an ear for adapting one brand voice across very different platforms.
  • A bias toward action: you post, measure, and iterate rather than waiting for the perfect plan.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini, to develop engaging content, improve workflows and uncover trends in analytics.

You Are
  • Adaptable. You shift tone and format fluidly between a LinkedIn thought-leadership post and an Instagram Reel without losing the throughline of the brand.
  • Self-Directed. You don't need a content calendar handed to you: you build it, defend it, and adjust it as the news cycle moves.
  • Collaborative. You know the best social content comes from product, sales, and customer stories, so you're constantly pulling threads from across the company.
  • Analytical. You read engagement data as a signal for what to do next, not just a number to report.
  • Creative. You spot the story inside a feature launch or a customer win before anyone else does.

You Will Enjoy
  • Freedom - we are remote first
  • Growth - an opportunity to learn and advance your career
  • Wealth - we offer a competitive salary and 401(k) + company match
  • Wellness - health insurance; free medical plan for you and your family
  • Balance - flexible PTO + 11 holidays; generous parental leave
  • Culture - an energetic, value-driven, and fun culture and team spirit
  • Bonus - employee referral program and Apple equipment

Smartling is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. We are committed to building an inclusive global team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, beliefs, skills, and experiences.
We use E-Verify platform for work authorization verifications.
To work from home, you must have a strong internet connection, a quiet space, and a professional (distraction and clutter-free) background.
The US national total pay range for this role is $65,000 - $79,000 annually. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed.
