The Deputy Project Leader- MEP Construction plays a key role in supporting the strategy, execution, and successful delivery of complex projects within Modular Mission Critical, Government, Industrial Facilities, and Commercial Building sectors. This individual will focus on ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards, while fostering leadership and development among team members.
Core Market Sector:
This role is within the Critical Infrastructure Solutions (CIS) Business Unit. The ideal candidate will have expertise in modular delivery and MEP systems, with experience across vertical construction markets or prime/general contracting industries.
Responsibilities
  • Assist Senior Project Managers in developing and managing schedules, budgets, and resources for modular delivery projects.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Oversee and manage MEP installations, including coordination and shop drawings.
  • Gain hands-on experience with modular building processes, including fabrication, transportation, and installation.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and provide guidance to project teams.
  • Conduct site surveys, cost studies, and budget forecasting, ensuring financial accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures, quality improvements, and best practices implementation.
  • Maintain regular communication with project teams and provide updates on progress.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with preconstruction teams on estimates using software such as Accubid.
  • Ensure timely completion of punch-list items, as-built drawings, and training material accessibility.
  • Manage permitting, licensing, and inspections to meet project timelines.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred) with 5+ years of MEP or modular construction experience, or a Master's degree in Construction Management or Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction management functions and terminology.
  • Familiarity with MEP systems and modular building techniques throughout project lifecycles.
  • Experience in federal, government, commercial, or mission-critical sectors with construction budgets ranging from $2M-$30M+.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Skilled in using Bluebeam, Accubid, Microsoft Office, and Excel.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and make sound decisions.
  • Adaptability to diverse teams and fast-paced environments.
  • Dexterity in handling software and tools for efficient project management.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP Certification.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification

  • Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
