Job description

Slitter Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring slitting machinery to cut large rolls of material into smaller widths according to customer specifications. This role ensures production standards for quality, safety, and efficiency are met while maintaining equipment and a clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate slitting machines according to work orders and specifications
  • Load and unload rolls of material safely using forklifts, hoists, or other equipment
  • Adjust blades, spacers, tension, and alignment to ensure accurate cuts
  • Inspect finished product for quality, measurements, and defects
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed during operation
  • Complete production documentation, including counts, measurements, and downtime
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and blade changes
  • Troubleshoot minor machine or material issues and report major problems
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Work collaboratively with team members and communicate production needs

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous manufacturing or machine-operating experience preferred
