Delray Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 536-bed acute care hospital spanning 30 acres, employing over 1,700 employees, 700 physicians and serving southern Palm Beach County for over 40 years. As both a community hospital and state-designated Level I Trauma Center, Delray Medical Center offers several specialized services including advanced cardiac and vascular facilities, orthopedics, neurosciences, emergency care and weight-loss surgery. Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital at Delray Medical Center is the only state designated brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in the county by the State of Florida. Education:

Minimum: High School or Equivalent

Preferred: Associates degree in physical or biological science

Experience:

One (1) year previous hospital/lab experience

Two (2) years of experience in either EEG or PSG

One (1) year management/supervisor experience strongly preferred

Required Certification/Licensure/Registration:

Registered EEG technologist or Registered Polysomnography technologist, BLS certification.

Other Qualifications:

Computer knowledge/experience

  • For daily operation of all phases of work in the Neurodiagnostic, Sleep Laboratory and EKG departments by following applicable policies and procedures of the Department, Medical Center and guidelines of regulatory agencies (AASM, JC).
  • Assuring standard of care
  • Scheduling of staff
  • Assists Director and Manager with in-service education programs for staff, physicians and nursing personnel.
  • Interviewing and selection of new employees
  • Completion of annual performance appraisals and discipline of direct reports u Participate in data collection for statistical and quality improvement reports
  • Performance of standard and complex electroencephalographic recordings and sleep studies when needed to cover staffing needs and adheres to the competencies and job description of these positions.
  • Marketing and education of physicians and community about issues in sleep.
  • Oversees training of all new employees that are direct reports and develops an outline of a training program to be followed.
  • Responsible for training of EEG technicians
