Quality Control Lab Manager
Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a prominent regulated manufacturing organization, is seeking a Quality Control Lab Manager to join their team! This role offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic QC lab team in a fast-paced, GMP-compliant environment focused on product safety, regulatory compliance, and quality excellence.
Quality Control Lab Manager Job Summary:
• Pay: $70,000 - $95,000
• Location: On-site
• Reports To: Director of Quality & Regulatory Affairs
• Direct Reports: QC Chemist, QC Lab Technicians
• Oversee daily QC laboratory operations, scheduling, and team supervision
• Manage laboratory systems including sample management, documentation, calibrations, and standards
• Develop and maintain QC SOPs and GMP-compliant procedures
• Investigate OOS (Out of Specification) results and support product/material disposition decisions
• Manage chemical inventories, lab equipment maintenance, and analytical testing processes
• Oversee internal and third-party testing including microbiology, assays, and release testing
• Lead investigations into non-conformances and customer complaints
• Maintain QC documentation including batch records, lab notebooks, and product specifications
• Support product development, stability testing, and packaging validation activities
• Train, mentor, and conduct performance evaluations for laboratory staff
• Support internal and external audits, inspections, and validation activities
• Ensure compliance with 21 CFR cGMP requirements (cosmetics and OTC drug regulations)
Quality Control Lab Manager Qualifications:
• 5+ years of Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience in regulated industries (pharmaceutical, OTC, food, or cosmetics)
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field preferred
• Equivalent regulated industry experience may be considered
