Job description

**Position Overview: 

Full-Time Locum Assignment (Approx. 6 Months)**  

**Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM  

**EMR System:** Meditech Expanse  

**Job Summary:**   We are in search of a Locum Sleep Medicine Physician to deliver outpatient coverage. The ideal candidate will be board-certified in Sleep Medicine, with a strong preference for dual board certification in Pulmonary Medicine. This position offers an opportunity to engage in diagnosing and managing a comprehensive range of sleep disorders within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on enhancing patient health and quality of life.

This role is strictly outpatient with no inpatient duties or on-call requirements. 

The responsibilities encompass outpatient clinic visits, interpretation of sleep studies, in-lab polysomnography, and the coordination of holistic sleep care.

**Key Responsibilities:**  

- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and management of both new and established patients with diverse sleep disorders.  

- Diagnose and treat conditions such as:  

  - Obstructive sleep apnea and other sleep-related breathing disorders    

- Insomnia    - Hypersomnia  

  - Restless legs syndrome  

  - REM sleep behavior disorder  

  - Circadian rhythm disorders and other prevalent sleep conditions  

- Analyze sleep studies and perform attended polysomnography.  

- Oversee positive airway pressure (PAP/CPAP/BiPAP) therapy, including monitoring treatment effectiveness and patient compliance.  

- Prescribe and manage pharmacotherapy pertinent to sleep disorders.  

- Order and interpret necessary diagnostic testing and coordinate durable medical equipment (DME) as required.  

- Provide education to patients and families concerning sleep disorders, therapeutic options, and strategies for long-term management.  

- Collaborate with respiratory therapists, sleep technologists, primary care physicians, and specialists in pulmonology, cardiology, neurology, ENT, and more to ensure coordinated care.  

- Maintain precise and timely documentation using Meditech Expanse.

**Essential Qualifications:**   - Graduate of an accredited medical school.  

- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Internal Medicine or a related specialty.  

- Board certification in Sleep Medicine. 

- Dual board certification in Pulmonary Medicine is strongly preferred.  

- Active medical license in New Hampshire or eligibility to obtain one.  

- BLS certification is mandatory.
