Job description

he Durable Slate Company is an award-winning historic roofing contractor specializing in slate, copper, and clay-tile roofing. Established in 1986, we are known nationwide for exceptional craftsmanship, safety, and preservation excellence. We're currently hiring Roofing Technicians who take pride in their work and are open to learning historic roofing using traditional methods and delivering high-quality work. Through our paid apprenticeship you will be able to move at your pace in learning the art of historic roofing.
What You'll Do
  • Install, repair, and restore traditional slate, tile and copper roofing systems
  • Work with natural slate, clay tile, copper flashing, and related materials
  • Maintain safe, professional job sites and follow company safety standards
  • Travel to job sites locally and throughout the US with paid travel time and logistics support provided
What We're Looking For
  • 1+ years roofing experience (any type)
  • Knowledge of roofing installation, repair techniques, and flashing details is preferred
  • Comfort working at heights using ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license with no more than 4 points (preferred), ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check required
  • Commitment to quality craftsmanship, safety, and professionalism
