The Auberge Residences at Element 52 are situated slopeside in the spectacular mountain destination of Telluride, Colorado. Located within walking distance to town, 47 luxurious two- to five-bedroom accommodations are nestled along the scenic San Miguel River and feature direct ski-in/ski-out access. Alpine amenities include a luxury fitness center, spa services, two outdoor soaking pools, a ski concierge, a private club room for apres ski, a year-round resident concierge, and private chef arrangements. Residences boast high-end kitchen appliances, large outdoor terraces, and access to a private ski lift.
The targeted compensation range for this full time year round, non-exempt role is $35/hour. Housing is available for this position. The position offers a competitive compensation package presented by Auberge Resorts Collection.
Job Description
Bring your technical expertise and people-first leadership style to the role of Lead Engineer, where you'll serve as the hands-on operational leader of our engineering team. Working closely with the Chief Engineer and Area Director of Engineering, you'll keep our property running beautifully - supervising daily maintenance operations, coordinating vendors and projects, and rolling up your sleeves alongside your team to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Directly supervise, schedule, and support engineering and maintenance associates in their day-to-day responsibilities, fostering a culture of accountability and craftsmanship.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment - including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, spa and pool utilities, and carpentry - ensuring optimal functionality and safety compliance.
  • Manage work orders, lead preventive maintenance efforts, and conduct regular property walk-throughs to proactively identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and project work; assist the Chief Engineer with budget tracking, scheduling, and project execution.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards; maintain accurate maintenance logs and compliance documentation.

Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or equivalent experience in the engineering department of a hotel, resort, or closely related industry.
  • Demonstrated hands-on technical proficiency in plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, spa and pool utilities, and/or carpentry.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
  • Experience coordinating vendors and contractors, and comfort with administrative tasks including work order management, maintenance logs, and basic budget tracking.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal health and safety regulations applicable to hotel and resort operations.
