Job Summary: Six Flags Over Georgia is looking for a qualified Water Park Mechanic. This position is responsible for the inspection, repair and upkeep of various water park attractions, fiberglass ride components and other water attractions at Six Flags Over Georgia.

STATUS: Full Time Hourly, Non-Exempt. 


Responsibilities:
  • Inspect water park rides, amusement park attractions and notifying management of any and all hazards that may endanger guests or employees.
  • Perform the ride inspection and maintenance programs in accordance with the standards set by Six Flags, Ride Manufacturers, ASTM and the State of Georgia.
  • Maintain and repair water park attractions, swimming pools, and park facilities.
  • Visually and physically inspect ride components such as water slides, plumbing systems, swimming pools, interactive play features, pumps/motors, attraction support structures and chemical control systems.
  • Visually and physically inspect ride components such as upholstery, boats, floatation devices and vehicle body components.
  • Basic mechanical repairs of ride vehicle components.
  • Inspect and repair fiberglass waterslides.
  • Maintain Six Flags Water Quality program for Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
  • Respond to work orders and conduct repairs as required to maintain safe park operation.
  • Adhere to park policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Pay Range: $30.00 - $40.00/hr. (depending on level of experience). Work in excess of 40 hours per week is paid at 1.5x standard pay rate. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Qualifications:
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Experience in FRP fabrication/repair, polyester, gelcoat, and epoxy lamination.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to professionally interact with other shops and various departments.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot clearly, calmly and safely in the presence of guests, co-workers and park management.
  • Ability to write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job including lifting, bending, standing for long periods of time, climbing, and working at heights up to 200 ft.
  • Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work outside in any weather conditions, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Valid Drivers’ License and clean DMV report.
  • Must be able to pass a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) course within 12 months of hire date or maintain a current license.
  • Employees are required to supply their own hand tools.
