Job description

NOW HIRING! Custodians
Pay Range: $13.00 to $15.00 

Job Summary:
The custodian is responsible for optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, fire/life safety; elevators etc. Manage a staff of employees in the maintenance of buildings and grounds. Oversee contractors for facilities renovation project entailing, HVAC, electrical, production floor arrangement, etc. 
 
Essential Functions:
  • Provide service and repairs pertaining to building and related equipment.
  • Arrange furnishings and equipment in preparation for meetings, classroom activities and events.
  • Clean offices, classrooms, gyms, restrooms, multipurpose room as necessary.
  • Delivers various items (e.g., supplies, mail, packages, furniture, etc.) to ensure delivery to appropriate parties.
  • Secure school facilities and school grounds as necessary.
  • Help respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g., facility damage, alarms, etc.) in order to resolve immediate safety issues.
  • Prepare school for daily operations (e.g., opening gates and building access doors, disarming security stems, raising flags, performing minor repairs, etc.)
 
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform similar or other related duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • 5 years of experience in the field.
  • Knowledge and experience of heating, boilers, air conditioning systems and electrical systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
 
Performance Standards:
Annual Performance Reviews are based on essential functions including but not limited to additional responsibilities, attendance and adherence to school policy & practices.
      
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and/or walk for 6 hours or more. May have to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
