Advanced Practice Manager (Exempt)

Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the efficient, compliant, and patientcentered operation of a physician practice. This position oversees administrative, operational, and financial functions while leading caregivers to deliver an exceptional patient experience. The Advanced Practice Manager partners closely with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and organizational leaders to support growth, productivity, and valuebased outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant education may be considered in lieu of experience

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare or supervisory experience (unless preferred education is met)

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Caregiver Management

  • Lead, coach, and supervise caregivers to support high-quality patient care, engagement, and outcomes
  • Recruit, select, onboard, and train support staff
  • Coordinate role-based education and practice-level orientation
  • Monitor staffing performance, coverage, and workflow effectiveness
  • Complete and deliver annual performance evaluations
  • Develop and implement caregiver engagement and retention strategies

Patient Experience & Access

  • Lead patient experience initiatives, including service recovery efforts
  • Manage provider templates and staffing models to ensure timely patient access
  • Coordinate scheduling processes to align patient demand with clinical capacity

Provider & Team Collaboration

  • Communicate regularly with physicians, APPs, and caregivers
  • Connect providers and staff with training, peer support, tools, and resources
  • Collaborate with providers and leadership to achieve growth, productivity, and value-based care goals

Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure consistent implementation of operational standards and workflows
  • Educate staff and enforce compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with Facilities Management to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient clinical environment
  • Oversee timely completion of departmental work queues (e.g., GFE, referrals, follow-ups)

Financial & Performance Management

  • Monitor and manage department financial performance, including visit volumes, prior authorizations, and insurance denials
  • Analyze key performance indicators to identify improvement opportunities
  • Implement operational and financial solutions to drive efficiency and outcomes
  • Support leadership in performance measurement, goal attainment, and strategic initiatives

Technology & Innovation

  • Deploy EHR and technology solutions to improve workflow efficiency, accuracy, and patient outcomes
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
