Job description

General Operations
Work with the Farm Manager and other Row Crop Team members during the fall harvest season.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
  • Harvest
    • Assist in coordinating various operations and tasks to ensure fall harvest is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Job specifics will be adjusted to the job skill of the employee. All employees can expect a range of responsibilities from running grain carts to assisting with bin site operations.
  • Manure Application
    • Assist in the drag line manure operations.
  • Special Projects
    • Coordinate and complete "special" projects as needed for the Row Crop Manager and other Summit Agricultural Group management on an as-needed basis.
  • Schedule
    • Work times and hours are dependent on the weather and harvesting conditions.
    • Schedule can be flexible, as needed.

Work Skill Requirements
  • Ability to operate large machinery safety and efficiently
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to adjust to changing conditions
  • Experience in production agriculture, preferred
  • Valid, unrestricted Class A CDL, preferred

Work Environment:
  • This position will require tasks to be performed in outside weather conditions with exposure to corn/bean debris and dust.

Physicality Requirements:
  • This position will require the repetition of movements such as bending, lifting, reaching, and standing on hard services for extended periods of time and different hand movements as needed to complete tasks.
  • Required to stand; walk; sit; have use of both hands to utilize tools and controls along with the ability to climb stairs.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • This position must have the ability to drive a vehicle for a prolonged period of time
