Job description

The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing janitorial operations at facility/location, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, client satisfaction, and compliance with safety and sanitation guidelines. Additionally, the Site Manager is responsible for managing the site's budget, including tracking expenses, labor costs, and ensuring the efficient use of resources. This role involves team leadership, daily operational management, and financial oversight to maintain a successful, cost-effective janitorial operation.
Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Manage all janitorial activities, including cleaning schedules, tasks, and staff assignments to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation protocols in the cleaning process.
  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of janitors, cleaners, floor technicians, and other support staff.
  • Assign daily tasks and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Address any operational issues, such as staffing shortages or equipment malfunctions.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the facility to ensure cleaning standards are met.
  • Handle client feedback and promptly address any service concerns or special cleaning requests.
  • Ensure that all employees follow safety guidelines, including proper use of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal cleaning and sanitation regulations.
  • Manage staffing schedules, overtime, and employee hours to stay within budget while ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Approve payroll and timesheets, ensuring accuracy in employee payments.
  • Implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality service, such as optimizing labor schedules, reducing waste, and negotiating vendor contracts.
  • Monitor the usage of cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure cost-effective use and reorder when necessary.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining open communication and building strong relationships.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on janitorial performance, address any concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to cmmunicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, clients and vedors..
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in janitorial or facility managemen
  • Previous janitorial managment experience in Class A high-rise properties is required
  • Must have the flexibility to work either 1st or 2nd shift, as assigned based on operational and client requirements
  • Experience in managing budgets and financial reporting is required.
  • Previous experience working with large cleaning teams or in multi-site operations is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage and report on budgets.
  • Exceptional communication skills for client interaction and staff supervision.
  • Familiarity with janitorial practices, equipment, cleaning chemicals, and safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of budget management and cost control in an operational setting.
