Essential Job Summary::

Job Highlights
ย 

Site Manager manages the assigned scope of responsibility within a line of business and/or at specific site within a market.ย  May be assigned single or multiple depots, building facilities, expense management, operations staff to maintain and ensure safe performance and productivity metrics and processes.ย 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.โ€ฏย 

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the depot(s), and provides daily support to Operations manager(s), supervisors in ensuring quality and budget performance.ย 
  • Monitors budget and operating metrics while diagnosing and improving processes, procedures, and performance.ย 
  • Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.ย 
  • Ensures thorough root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, following-up with consistent discipline and retraining and that managementย ย 
  • Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.ย 
  • Formulates both short-term and long-term goals and action plans in conjunction with the Site Manager(s) and Director of Operations.ย 
  • Participates in regular P&L reviews to ensure that budgets are met; develops and implements programs for optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs.ย 
  • Interacts with local city, municipal, and county agencies to ensure customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, renew contracts and negotiate new contracts; establishes IWS as a good corporate citizen and valued resource.ย 
  • Works with functional groups to resolve employee relations and labor relations issues.ย 
Requirements and Qualifications::

Requirements:ย 

Supervisory experience:ย  5+ years supervisory/team management experience to include direct and indirect reports.ย 

Education and Experience

  • Education: Associate degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 2 years of relevant work experience.ย 
  • Experience: 3 years of work experience (in addition to education requirement) in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations in which coaching, routing assessments and leading employeesย 

Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Experience in a position involving operations, customer service, community relations, health and safety, financial, and human resources function, experience as a supervisor or manager; experience implementing safety (OSHA) programs and equipment specifications, experience preparing and managing budgets, and experience resolving labor relations issues required.ย
