Company Description
Labor Mobility Partnerships (LaMP) works to developย large-scale, effective, legal pathwaysย for workers to access quality jobs across borders. Our vision is aย globally mobile workforce, in which high-income countries escape theย harmsย of demographicย declineย andย workersย have exponentially greaterย opportunityย for economic advancement.ย ย
Theย global contextย ofย LaMP'sย work is thatย high-income countries are rapidly aging, facing a gap ofย almost 400ย million workers by 2050 toย maintainย their current economic structureย and social contract.ย ย Meanwhile,ย there is a massive youth bulge inย developing countriesย andย countriesย struggleย to create enoughย jobs.ย ย This creates a win-win potential for laborย mobilityย and those who manage to secure work in OECD countries can expect toย experience life-changingย increasesย their incomeย (6 to 15 times) even if only on a short-term basis.ย Improving labor mobility systems globally willย benefitย all actors involved - for the worker who gains quality employment and dramatically improves their income, for the receiving country whichย acquiresย needed workers, and for the sending country which secures remittances and needed employment opportunities.ย ย ย
LaMPย hopes to expandย opportunityย for legal pathways for workย by:ย delivering proof-of-concept projects thatย demonstrateย theย impact of labor mobility and pave the way for market expansion, developing evidence for policyย advocacy andย influence, and building global coalitionsย ofย committed champions.ย ย
