Core Faculty Position: Academic General CardiologistCardiovascular Disease Fellowship - Lakeland, Florida
Join us in shaping the future of cardiology while engaging in a comprehensive practice of cardiovascular medicine. Our organization is expanding its role as an academic institution and is in search of a General Cardiologist to become a core educator in our ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship. At our facility, general cardiologists play a vital role in the training of fellows, demonstrating clinical judgment and evidence-based practices across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
The Role- Core Faculty Appointment: Supervise fellows on the inpatient consult service and in continuity clinic, conduct structured didactic sessions, participate in milestone-based evaluations, and engage in the Clinical Competency Committee.
- Protected Academic Time: Allocated time for teaching, curriculum development, research, and quality improvement activities is integrated into the schedule.
- Balanced Clinical Practice: Engage in both inpatient consultative and outpatient general cardiology, supported by a comprehensive noninvasive imaging system and collaboration with subspecialty colleagues in heart failure, interventional cardiology, and electrophysiology.
- Mentorship and Scholarship: Provide guidance for fellow research and quality improvement initiatives with assistance from our on-site Research Department and simulation lab.
- Participate in an ACGME-accredited cardiovascular fellowship within a well-established Graduate Medical Education community, including Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Transitional Year, Surgical Critical Care, Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine, and Psychiatry.
- Enjoy dedicated administrative time, access to an on-site Research Department, and a simulation lab.
- Work at an accredited Level 5 Chest Pain Center and a cutting-edge hybrid catheterization lab.
- Benefit from a 910-bed main campus, a Level I Trauma Center, and the busiest single-site Emergency Department in the nation, providing an unparalleled range of cardiovascular cases for educational purposes.
