Modeling and Simulation Engineer
The Opportunity:
Are you looking to join a dynamic team supporting the U.S. Air Force as a Modeling and Simulation Engineer, where you'll help shape the future of operational readiness and training? In this role, you'll develop and integrate advanced modeling architectures, ensuring interoperability across simulation platforms and mission-critical systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing training, analysis, and decision-making capabilities across the Air Force enterprise.
As a Modeling and Simulation Engineer, you will design and implement advanced models to evaluate system performance and support strategic decision-making. You'll play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the US Air Force by identifying system features and tactical approaches that enhance survivability and operational effectiveness within simulated environments. Your analytical work will support the acquisition community in making smarter, data-driven investment choices for next-generation warfare technologies. Along the way, you'll sharpen your abilities in critical thinking, data analysis, and operational assessment, while gaining hands-on experience in modeling and simulation of combat operations.

You Have:
  • 3+ years of experience within Department of Defense simulation and training programs
  • Experience with a variety of COTS and GOTS M&S and data science tools, including Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE), Mission Object Configuration Tool (MOCT), or Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG)
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages, including C, C++, MATLAB, or Python
  • Knowledge of combat weapon systems, ground-based radar technologies, and surface-to-air platforms
  • Knowledge of High-Level Architecture, Distributed Interactive Simulation, or Open Mission Systems standards
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science Field
  • IAT Level II Certification

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience in multi-domain defense simulations, including air, space, missile defense, or cyber
  • Experience supporting operational efforts through M&S development
  • Experience working with large-scale distributed simulations
  • Experience running and analyzing campaign or theater-level simulations
  • Knowledge of AFSIM to perform operational analysis or modeling, and simulation for the DoD
  • Top Secret clearance

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
