Job description

Sales Development Manager

Big Think+ | New York City (Hybrid) | Full-Time

Reports to: VP of Demand Generation and Marketing

At Big Think+, we’re helping develop leaders and transform culture at companies like Google, Microsoft, Netflix, Marriott, and Bank of America. We’ve created over 1,700 video-based lessons that showcase more F500 execs, Ivy League academics, and best-selling authors than any other leadership solution on the market. Featuring experts like Adam Grant, Simon Sinek, and Amy Edmondson, our microlearning experiences and AI coaching help teams launch leadership development programs quickly and amplify existing ones through curated, continuous learning.

We're curious, open, thoughtful, and constructive – and we're looking for a BDR Team Manager who shares that energy to help us bring Big Think+ to more of the organizations shaping the future of work.

About the Role

Big Think+ is hiring a BDR Manager to lead a team of five Business Development Representatives based in the New York City area. This team runs tailored cold outreach campaigns – email, phone, and LinkedIn – to schedule sales meetings with senior Learning & Development executives.

You’ll own the day-to-day coaching, performance, and pipeline strategy for the team, working closely with Demand Gen and Marketing leadership to turn outbound activity into qualified pipeline. This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants to build a scalable, repeatable outbound engine and develop the next generation of sales talent.

This role is hybrid, based in the New York City area, with team access to a WeWork office for regular in-person collaboration.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of five BDRs, running regular 1:1s, mock calls, email reviews, team training, and pipeline reviews to sharpen messaging, technique, and productivity

  • Own team-level meeting targets, build, test, and refine outbound cadences (cold email, cold calling, LinkedIn, video) targeted at L& D executives

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and ramp new BDRs

  • Partner with leadership to align outbound strategy with target accounts, campaigns, and ideal customer profile

  • Build and maintain playbooks, call scripts, email sequences, and objection-handling frameworks and keep iterating as you learn what resonates with L& D buyers

  • Track and report on team KPIs: activity volume, connect rates, meetings booked, and pipeline generated

  • Use CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Nooks) to manage the funnel and surface coaching opportunities

  • Effectively root cause areas of underperformance and proactively identify solutions to course correct.

  • Build and sustain a high-energy, high-accountability team culture that keeps reps motivated and growing in a demanding cold-outreach role

What You’ll Need:

  • 2+ years of experience directly managing an outbound, B2B BDR team, including messaging development, hiring, coaching, and performance management

  • 2+ years of hands‑on cold outreach experience with cold calling, email, and LinkedIn tactics

  • A track record of hitting or exceeding team goals

  • Strong coaching instincts with a solutions oriented mindset – you can diagnose what's not working and fix it quickly

  • Comfort with CRM and sales engagement tools

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Based in the New York City area, with the ability to come into our WeWork space regularly at least 3X per week as part of a hybrid schedule

Nice to have: experience selling a SaaS product to F1000 companies

What You’ll Get:

  • Base salary: $95,000–$105,000, depending on experience

  • On-target earnings (OTE): $115,000–$130,000, including team performance bonus

  • Access the Big Think+ platform to sharpen your own leadership skills

  • Comprehensive wellness benefits: memberships to HealthAdvocate, Teladoc, OneMedical, and Talkspace

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability Insurance, 401(k), and Commuter Benefits
