CV, Inc. is a company that provides Miss Utility Locating, Civil Engineering, Survey, Maintenance of
traffic, and Subsurface Utility Engineering, for multiple MD/NoVA/DC/DE Utility providers, as well as
County and State organizations.
We are currently looking for an experienced Utility Designator (Locator) to work in our Miss Utility / SUE
Services Division.
Experience with Utility locating, UtiliSphere, Maintenance of Traffic, in Maryland, DC, Virginia, &
Delaware regions are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize multiple types of utility locating equipment (Radio Detection, Metrotech, GPR, etc.)
  • Accurately and Precisely Designate (Locate) all types of Utilities (QL-B)
  • Perform Miss Utility On-call work for one-week intervals as needed and scheduled.
  • Draw and develop utility sketches, Field reports, and document information as needed.
  • Read and understand digital utility data, plans, as-builts, and records.
  • Use multiple MS Office Products and communicate using email.
  • Physically capable of maneuvering manholes, valve boxes, underground vaults, etc.
  • Perform basic Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) as needed on most projects.
  • Operate a motor vehicle as needed in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Properly maintain the company vehicle and perform basic inspections as required.
Qualifications
  • Absolute minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ provable experience in the Miss Utility/SUE industry. Preferably in the Metropolitan DC/Baltimore regions (Contract Utility locating, Test holes, Pavement Cores, and MOT deployment preferred.)
  • Knowledge of Electromagnetic utility locating equipment and operating procedures.
  • Possess very good interpersonal skills, effective written, and oral communication skills.
  • Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years old.
  • Valid driver's license with insurable record required.
  • Lift and manipulate up to 100 pounds
  • Complete a physical and be willing and able to work in all-weather environments.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in team environment.
  • Basic computer/technical skills
