Job description

Job Title: Excavation Laborer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Excavation Laborer to join our team. This role involves supporting excavation and site development projects, with a focus on grading, trenching, and general site preparation. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in excavation work, a solid understanding of grading practices, and some experience operating heavy equipment. Familiarity with installing and working around electrical conduit is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with excavation, trenching, grading, and backfilling operations
  • Perform site preparation, including clearing, digging, and material handling
  • Read grade stakes, interpret site plans, and maintain proper elevations
  • Operate or assist in operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, or loaders
  • Support installation of underground utilities, including electrical conduit
  • Ensure trenches and work areas are safe and compliant with OSHA standards
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment
  • Perform general labor duties as needed to support crew and project timelines
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies

Qualifications:
  • 1-3+ years of experience in excavation or site work
  • Basic understanding of grading, elevations, and site layout
  • Experience operating heavy equipment (skid steer, excavator, etc.) preferred
  • Experience working with or around electrical conduit strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans is a plus
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred

  • Outdoor construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Physically demanding work, including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods
