Plumbing Excavator

Pay: $30 - $50 hourly

Bailey Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling is seeking an energetic Plumbing Excavator for their Wall Township, NJ, location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating excavation equipment and performing trenching work to support residential and commercial plumbing projects. This position requires knowledge of underground utility installation, excavation safety practices, and the ability to work effectively with plumbers and construction crews.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate excavators, backhoes, skid steers, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Excavate trenches for water, sewer, storm, and gas line installations.
  • Expose and repair existing underground plumbing systems.
  • Assist with sewer and water service replacements.
  • Read and interpret site plans, utility maps, and grade stakes.
  • Perform backfilling, grading, and site restoration after plumbing work is completed.
  • Utilize hand tools and other equipment to dig and probe for utilities
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure proper storage
  • Assist with other areas of excavation and service as needed
  • Successfully load and unload the backhoe from trailer

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with sewer and water repair required
  • Experience operating an excavator required
  • Knowledge of plumbing, sewer, and water line installations
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Valid DOT medical card
  • CDL preferred but not required

  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds

  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team

The starting hourly base wage for this position is $30-50. This is the range of the base pay only; it does not include other components that make up the total compensation package of the position. If offered a position, your total compensation package will be determined by experience, location, skills, and/or education which may result in a total compensation package that falls outside of the provided range.
