Job description

Excavation Foreman will be the company representative and authority and competent person on construction site when the Superintendent is not on the construction job site. They are to work with the Superintendent to plan, organize, and coordinate building their scope of work for the project. Foreman must have a clear understanding of their equipment and the project and scope of work expected from them. Management responsibilities involve directing personnel to do their jobs in order to complete the project and may include training and or discipline requirements, so as to increase profits and improve customer relationships and satisfaction.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise excavation crews on job sites
  • Coordinate daily tasks and ensure work is completed on schedule
  • Read and interpret plans, grades and specifications
  • Communicate with project managers, superintendents, and team members
  • Responsible for quality control, ADA Ramps, finish grade, toolbox talks, compaction, drainage
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate the scope of work you are responsible for
  • Acquire in depth understanding of the project at hand and the relative requirements
  • Operate Equipment
  • Support laborers in any capacity needed
  • Enforce Adherence to all health and Safety Standards
  • Have a vested interest in the company's success and strive to better everyone and everything
  • Properly maintain equipment and keep in clean operating order
  • Be on time always and ask what more I can help with

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5 years of proven successful industry experience (Preferable 10)
  • Previous experience as an excavation foreman to similar leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, utilities, and site work
  • Experience in your respective trade
  • Self-Motivated with a results driven approach
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal & external customers
  • Communication Skills- Negotiations, Problem Solving
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Have a complete understanding of the equipment you operate
  • Thoroughness and reliability
  • Prioritizing skills
  • Willingness and ability to keep all operation certifications current and complete
  • Working knowledge of general construction safety policy's & procedure's
