Job description

We are currently accepting applications for an Excavation Foreman wanting to advance their construction career. The ideal candidate will be able to supervise field operations effectively and safely for Earthwork/Roadway/Grading projects.
This is a working foreman position. You'll be doing the same work as the crew you lead.
This is a safety sensitive position.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates and supervises daily activities of a laborers/crew.
  • Continually inspects work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns.
  • Responsible for crew safety and establishes safe work environment that complies with the Company safety program.
  • Perform various tasks at job site with equipment provided.
  • Complete and approve weekly timecard related to assigned job.
  • Meet job completion deadlines.
  • Produce a high quality of work.
  • Maintain a good attendance record.
  • Observe Company policies and procedures.
  • Observe Company safety rules and regulations.
  • Present a positive attitude about the Company and the job and maintains professional relationship with Owner.

Position Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of dirt work, including excavation, grade work, surveying, and final excavating work.
  • Experienced using all types of heavy equipment for dirt and site projects.
  • Ability to read plans.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Team Player.
  • Previous experience directing other employees and organizing work.
  • Ability to comprehend and complete instructions given by supervisor.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test. Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Redstone Construction Group standards & processes.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that are typically associated with a construction project.
  • Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete.
