Lead Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - Behavioral Health

If you are a strong Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with Leadership & Administration Experience, then you need to read on... SimiTree Talent Solutions is a leading search firm for the behavioral health space. Our client is a well-established CCBHC seeking to hire a Lead Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for their clinic in Upper Manhattan, Harlem.

Administrative Leadership

  • Lead ongoing review and enhancement of service programs in collaboration with Program Directors.
  • Maintain and update Center Operations and Clinical Procedural Manuals; develop new protocols as needed.
  • Assess organizational training needs; design and implement structured training programs.

Clinical Oversight

  • Provide system-wide clinical oversight to ensure high-quality, person-centered care delivery.
  • Lead development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory and best practice standards.
  • Design and monitor corrective action plans to address performance or compliance issues.

Recruitment, Retention & Staff Development

  • Partner with HR to recruit psychiatric providers and develop long-term workforce strategies.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and professional development for clinical staff and nursing teams.
  • Foster staff engagement, morale, and retention through leadership collaboration.
  • Maintain a partial clinical caseload, including diagnosis, treatment, and medication management (including MAT).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with psychiatric specialization.
  • Active New York State license and certification required.
  • DEA registration and Medicaid certification required.
  • Waiver to prescribe buprenorphine (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in healthcare or behavioral health settings.
  • Experience working within New York State Department of Health regulatory frameworks.
  • 100% On-Site Position

The compensation scale listed is a general salary range and is not intended to represent the actual annual or hourly compensation rate for this role. An offer will be made to the selected candidate at the conclusion of the interview process based on their relevant experience and the responsibilities of the position.
