Capital Projects Planner

Americas Gold & Silver | Wallace, Idaho | Full-time | On-site

Job Description

Americas Gold & Silver is seeking a Capital Projects Planner to join our team at the historic Galena Complex in Wallace, Idaho. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating capital and sustaining projects that support underground operations and long-term mine development.

The Capital Projects Planner will work closely with engineering, geology, maintenance, procurement, and operations teams to ensure capital projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for capital and sustaining projects.
  • Coordinate project planning activities with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Track project progress, identify schedule risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting for capital expenditures.
  • Assist in scope development, work breakdown structures (WBS), and resource planning.
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors to align timelines and deliverables.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports for site leadership.
  • Ensure project documentation is accurate and properly maintained.
  • Promote and uphold all MSHA and company safety standards during project execution.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in project planning or scheduling, preferably in mining or heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience supporting underground mining or infrastructure capital projects is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a dynamic operational setting.

Technical Requirements

  • Proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar).
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and project cost tracking tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, mine plans, and technical specifications.
  • Understanding of project controls, scheduling methodologies, and risk management principles.
  • Ability to work safely in an underground mining environment as required.
